Cancellation & Weather Policy

River & Pond Trips

All river and pond trip bookings are non-refundable unless Tar River Life cancels due to weather or unsafe conditions.

Trips operate rain or shine unless Tar River Life determines conditions are unsafe. Weather in North Carolina can change quickly, so weather-related decisions are made the day of the trip.

Tar River Life may cancel or delay trips due to unsafe conditions such as lightning, severe storms, flooding, high water, unsafe river conditions, or other safety concerns.

If Tar River Life cancels your trip due to weather or unsafe conditions, guests may choose either a refund or a future-use voucher. Guests who choose a future-use voucher will receive an additional 15% added to the value of their original booking for use toward a future river or pond trip.

Any customer cancellations will incur a 15% processing fee. Late arrivals, no-shows, rain, cloudy weather, or cooler temperatures do not qualify for a refund.

Camping Reservations

All camping reservations are non-refundable unless Tar River Life cancels due to flooding or other safety concerns.

Camping operates rain or shine unless Tar River Life determines conditions are unsafe. Weather in North Carolina can change quickly, so weather-related decisions are made the day of the reservation.

Tar River Life may cancel or close campsites due to flooding or other safety concerns.

If Tar River Life cancels your camping reservation due to flooding or other safety concerns, guests may choose either a refund or a future-use voucher. Guests who choose a future-use voucher will receive an additional 15% added to the value of their original booking for use toward a future camping reservation.

Any customer cancellations will incur a 15% processing fee. Late arrivals, no-shows, early departures, rain, cloudy weather, or cooler temperatures do not qualify for a refund.
